Seems like the damage from Hurricane Irene just keeps on coming. As people began to clean up around their homes and businesses, we got a chance to check out the conditions up at the JRBPC range. However due to the number of downed trees on the access road, people could get back to the range only by foot. All of the structures are okay, but more trees are down on the road ways at the range in addition to the access road. So . . . instead of spending time camping, shooting and cooking - we're looking at a Saturday of sawing, chopping and hauling. If you can come out on Saturday to lend a hand clearing away the trees, any willing hand will be greatly appreciated. We'll figure out the next step based on our progress. On the up side, it sounds like that we might very well have enough firewood for the next decade or two! Anyway - we hope that everyone has come through the events of the last few weeks (swamp fire, earthquake, and hurricane) healthy and whole - and we'll see each other on the range or down the trail!! Take Care and God Bless. As a side note, the James River Black Powder Club is a supporter of the upcoming Eastern Primitive Rendezvous, Sep 23 - Oct 01, at Carrsville, VA. Our own Minnesota Mike is the Range Captain and in charge of the shooting program, so you can count on a lot of shooting and and some very interesting targets both on the range and in the woods. The ROGUES gallery continues to grow, where is your picture? If you don't want your picture posted here, don't stand in front of a camera! |
